Position:    Gallery Attendant
Positions Available:    6-10
Duties:    The Gallery Attendant will open and close the gallery on time and according to A/V instructions and security guidelines. Attendants will greet visitors who enter the gallery space with a professional personality, support and be knowledgeable about the current exhibition, serve as guard for all artwork to ensure no thefts or damages. Check all equipment to ensure it functions, track visitor attendance on a daily basis, and inform staff of any problems that may arise. Attendants are responsible for tracking their hours using a calendar system. Attendants will be expected to work at least 1-2 events (some may be after hours) per semester. Saturday hours are available. Students may also be requested to run errands, assist with general Administrative support; general curatorial support (art handling, packing, researching, photography); general promotion and event support, which may include social media; general production support, which may include lifting, moving, cleaning and painting; and possible educational support, which may include designing and posting flyers or assisting during school tours. Gallery Attendants must maintain a professional demeanor at all times while working. All Attendants will be expected to be trained in certain gallery protocols which will include a general orientation and may also include fire extinguisher and other training as required. Other duties as assigned.
     
Required skills:    Must maintain a professional demeanor at all times while working; able to work in a social and public-facing setting and observing respect for the experiences of others. Must be dependable and responsible, timely, prepared, and conscientious. Must be able to work independently. May be asked to lift up to 20 pounds or more. May be asked to use fine motor skills during art handling. An interest in Visual Arts is helpful but not required as long as you have the willingness to learn and grow with the CADVC. Growth within the CADVC and other opportunities are available for students that demonstrate interest and maturity.

Position:    Lab Monitor
Positions Available:    5
Duties:    Morning monitors open and prepare darkrooms for class use. Evening monitors clean up and close the darkrooms and lock other student work spaces in the Fine Arts building. Daytime monitors manage student supplies, make digital prints and perform some light cleaning.
     
Required skills:    Light cleaning, mixing of photo chemicals and digital printing. Photo experience is a plus but not necessary.
